Ship your first internal tool with an AI agent

Bring the spreadsheet your team is scared to touch. Leave with a working tool at a link your colleagues can open, built in one sitting. No engineering background needed.

tracker_FINAL_v7.xlsx One paragraph: who, whose data, who edits 17:25 17:50 your-tool, at a link

01 What you'll learn

  1. Pick a job worth automating

Find the one recurring chore where a small tool pays for itself within a week, and leave the rest alone.

  2. Brief an agent like a colleague

Write one paragraph that says who uses it, whose data it holds and who may change it. That paragraph does most of the work.

  3. Give it real, shared data

Move from a file on one laptop to records the whole team reads and writes, with permissions written in plain words.

  4. Put it in front of people

Share the link, watch what breaks on a colleague's phone, and fix it in the same conversation.

02 Agenda

All times are London time on Thursday 18 March 2027. The longest stretch of the session is you building, not us talking.

  1. Welcome, and the chore you brought

Everyone names one spreadsheet, and we pick the one to build live.

  2. What makes a small tool last

Imogen on the ones her team still uses, and the ones they quietly dropped.

  3. Live build: spreadsheet to shared tracker

Tomasz goes from a messy file to a published tool, mistakes included.

  4. Your turn: brief your agent

Hands on. Write your paragraph, build, and ask for help in the chat.

  5. Show and tell

Three attendees, three minutes each, real links.

  6. Questions, and what to do on Monday

Who owns it now, how to change it, and when to stop.

  7. Close

03 Your speakers

Imogen Adeyemi

Head of operations, Quillfield Freight

Replaced a 14-tab dispatch spreadsheet with a tool she built in an afternoon. She has no engineering background and strong opinions about what not to build.

Tomasz Wren

Product engineer, Tern Street Studio

Helps teams work out what's worth building, which is usually less than they first thought. He'll build live and let you watch him get it wrong.

04 Before you ask

Do I need to know how to code?
No. If you can explain the chore to a new colleague, you can do this.
What do I need on the day?
A laptop, access to any AI coding agent, and one spreadsheet you'd happily never open again. Remove anything confidential first.
What if I can't make it live?
Register anyway. Everyone registered gets the recording and the slides afterwards.
Is it really free?
Yes. No card, no upsell at the end.
